Semi tempered (heat enhanced) glass HEAT STRENGTHENED GLASS
Process: the production process of semi tempered glass is similar to that of tempered glass, but the air pressure in the process of quenching is lower than the technical requirements of the tempered glass. The surface stress of the semi tempered glass is between 24~69Mpa, which is lower than the surface stress of the tempered glass. Therefore, the strength and thermal shock resistance of the semi tempered glass are slightly lower than that of the tempered glass, which is 2 times that of the ordinary glass.
Compared with the advantages of toughened glass, semi tempered glass is flat glass, optical distortion less, moreover, because of low stress, no explosive phenomenon. After semi toughened glass is broken, debris is similar to ordinary glass. Cracks appear, which do not form small fragments in the center of glass and will not fall from buildings. This is very important for building glass. It can avoid the danger of breaking the pieces of glass from the air to the ground.
